Q1: Are your TYOU connectors really compatible with standard MC4 connectors?
A: Yes. Both the PV-TY007 and PV-TY008 are designed to the same dimensional and electrical interface standards as MC4. They can be plugged directly into standard MC4 leads or existing MC4-compatible junction boxes. However, we always recommend performing a pull-test and electrical continuity test on the first article to ensure a perfect match with your specific cable insulation thickness.

Q2: When should I choose the PV-TY008 (43A/1500V) over the PV-TY007 (30A/1000V)?
A: You should select the PV-TY008 if your system voltage exceeds 1000V DC, or if the panel's short-circuit current (Isc) or maximum power current (Imp) exceeds 20A. For modern 500W+ bifacial modules or 1500V utility string designs, the PV-TY008 is the only safe choice. For standard 300W-450W residential panels, the PV-TY007 is perfectly sufficient and more cost-effective.

Q3: Do I need a special tool to unplug the TYOU connector?
A: Yes. For safety and to prevent accidental disconnection under load (which can cause DC arcing), the locking mechanism requires a standard MC4 disconnect tool. This is standard practice across the industry.

Q4: Are these connectors UV and ammonia resistant?
A: Yes. The housing is made of UV-stabilized PPO and the sealing rings are made of ammonia-resistant silicone. They are suitable for use in agricultural environments (livestock barns) and coastal areas with high UV and salt exposure.
